About the Trust Fund

The Health & Welfare Trust Fund is a negotiated part of the collective bargaining agreements between GEO/UAW 2322 and the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the PRO/UAW 2322 and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The Trust Fund maintains two distinct benefit plans: the GEO Unit Health & Welfare Plan and the Post-Doctoral Unit Health & Welfare Plan.
The University makes contributions per full-time employee into the Trust Fund, and the funds are then used to purchase health & welfare benefits for eligible employees. The Fund has provided employees with benefits since 2000 and increases and improves benefits each year.
